Total E&P Borneo BV (TEPB) reached another milestone with the signing of its first contract awarded under the i-Usahawan programme which was initiated by the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry (MEMI).
The guest of honour, Permanent Secretary (Manpower) at MEMI Haji Zolkiflee Haji Abdul Karim witnessed the signing which was held at the Empire Hotel & Country Club in Jerudong recently.
The recently appointed General Manager of TEPB Nicolas Wawresky said his company was proud to sign its first i-Usahawan contract with Mohd HMS Enterprise, who will be providing air-conditioning services and maintenance for five years.
“It is hoped that this contract will provide the company the opportunity to grow its business and develop outside Brunei in the long run,” he said.
Signing on behalf of TEPB was Head of Contracts and Procurement Josephine Tan and Head of General Services Dahlia Abdullah. Mohd HMS Enterprise was represented by its owner Mohammad Haji Mohd Said.
In ensuring the successful implementation of the i-Usahawan programme, Wawresky said TEPB has created a specific mentoring programme for its i-Usahawan participants, where selected vendors will undergo a training programme geared towards enhancing their professionalism within its domain.
Additionally, Wawresky also added that TEPB has identified other potential services to be provided under the i-Usahawan programme, which will be announced at a later date.
The i-Usahawan programme is an initiative by MEMI to support young Bruneians to start, own and grow their own business and secure their first contract with government, government-linked companies (GLCs) and statutory bodies.
