BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

THE Ministry of Communications (MinComm) is looking to extend the private vehicle inspection stations to companies in Belait, Tutong and Temburong after a successful implementation in the Brunei-Muara district.

Minister of Communications Yang Berhormat Abdul Mutalib Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Yusof said the move would provide more convenience to the public, and help the government save cost by $850,000 per year.

In the previous years, the Land Transport Department authorised private companies in Brunei Muara, including Bayu Ilham Motors, Bengkel Kereta Berakas, TCY Motors and Premier Motors to  run it vehicle inspection services to ease the inspection process and reduce waiting time.

The service, said the minister, not only provides more choice for the public, but also opened up the opportunity for more players in the private sector to participate as a service provider.
