Mohammad Adi Salihin Roslan gave the sultanate its first gold after topping the combined nandao and nangun event held at the World Trade Centre Arena in Manila, Philippines yesterday.

The national athlete went ahead of his competition with a score of 19.28 altogether, only 0.02 points from the runner up Harris Horatius of Indonesia and 0.03 from Vietnam’s Pham Quoc Kanh who won third.

Mohd Adi Salihin topped the nandao event with 9.64 on Sunday, and then maintained the score for nangun on Monday.

National wushu team members Hosea Wong, Basma Lachkar, Majdurano Joel Majallah Sain and Mohammad Safiee Shayferan Roslan also gave the sultanate medals through their respective events.

Wong won silver and bronze respectively for men’s taijiquan and taijijian; Basma got silver and bronze respectively for women’s taijiquan and taijijian; Majdurano Joel Majallah Sain and Mohammad Safiee Shayferan Roslan won silver for the men’s duilian event, as of press time.

Brunei has also won silver from Lawn Bowl and bronze medals via Pencak Silat and Polo, so far.
