10 Students from Yippy Tune Music School were honoured at the 7th Annual Singapore Performers’ Festival and Chamber Music Competition (ASPF & CMC) in Singapore last month.
The ASPF & CMC are performance platforms that showcase talent in front of a live audience as well as a panel of international adjudicating panel.
This was also followed by the Asia Pacific Arts Festival (APAF), where three students from the music school participated.
The events were held at the Resorts World Theatre, Marina Bay Sands.
Most notable this year was the strong performance by Yippy Tune student Flora Ng, who received both Gold with distinction and the Champion Overall Performance under 14 Year Old.
“This is my first time performing in such a grand stage and it’s definitely an experience that I will take away and use for my future endeavor.” Said Flora Ngu.
Meanwhile, students Siena Hoon and Melodee Goh also received Gold at the competition.
“This is Yippy Tune’s on-going commitment to expose students to international stages, learning from the best in the world” Said Deon Ong, the Principal of Yippy Tune.
“We look forward to participating in more regional events with more representatives as part of our on-going effort to raise our standards” she added.
The Principal also provided a lecture to the Asia Pacific arts students entitled “The Career of Arts & Music”, in which she outlined the career path of the music industry.
