No new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported in the sultanate, which brings the national tally of confirmed cases to remain at 141, the minister of health announced today.

Speaking during a press conference, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Md Isham Hj Jaafar said that no new recoveries from the novel coronavirus were reported, maintaining a total of 131 recovered cases.

Six active cases are still receiving treatment at the National Isolation Cente (NIC), where two individuals are still in critical condition; one still requires both requiring respiratory and heart/lung machine (ECMO) assistance and the other only require respiratory assistance.

Meanwhile, the rest are in stable condition.

As of today, a total of 2,575 individuals have completed their quarantine, while 108 individuals are currently undergoing quarantine in accordance with the Infectious Disease Act (Chapter 204).

In the past 24 hours, a total of 36 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the total number of laboratory tests conducted from January 2020 to 16,073 tests.
